Lesson 2-2 Solving Two-Step Equations
|
Objective: To develop the algebraic reasoning skills needed to solve two-step linear equations by working with algebraic properties of equality and a visual "balance scale" model.
Essential Understanding: Equivalent equations are equations that have the same solution(s). In lessons 2-1 thru 2-5, students learn to use the properties of equality and inverse operations to find equivalent equations, and thus, solutions. CCSS.Math.Content.HSA-CED.A.1 Create equations and inequalities in one variable and use them to solve problems. |
