Lesson 1-7 Distributive Property

[<-Previous Lesson]
[Next Lesson->]
Objective: To use the distributive property to simplify expressions

Essential Understanding:

The distributive property can be used to simplify the product of a number and a sum or a difference. An algebraic expression can be simplified by combining parts of the expression that are alike (aka Like Terms).

When you COMBINE LIKE TERMS you are actually applying the the distributive property.

CCSS.Math.Content.HSA-SSE.A.1a Interpret parts of an expression, such as terms, factors, and coefficients.
